A message from our president:

"A little bit of something for everyone." That's one way to describe D.W. Dickey & Son, Inc. Another good description would go something like this: D.W. Dickey & Son, Inc. is a business on the move. With diversity and financial strength, D.W. Dickey & Son, Inc. has grown from a small, rural operation to a strong and thriving organization that has deep roots in customer service as well as the strength and resources to get the job done right.

Since opening the business as a family-owned feed mill in 1948 in Elkton, Ohio, D.W. Dickey & Son, Inc. has come a long way. Building from a feed mill, Dickey's first expansion came with the building of a ready-mix concrete business. Then, Dickey accepted a distributorship as a carrier of explosives used in the nearby coal mines and stone quarries. In 1978, Dickey acquired Hays Oil Company, a fuel oil business concentration on home heating oil and, later, expanding into the commercial bulk tanker fuel and bulk motor oil business.

Another Dickey expansion came when the company took advantage of one of their locations on the Ohio River and entered the fertilizer warehousing business. Fertilizer is unloaded and warehoused efficiently and economically.

While D.W. Dickey & Son, Inc. is obviously a growing, progressive company, it is still a family-owned business, one that has never lost sight of the importance of serving the customer.

Enhancing Dickey's customer-service approach is the fact that most of Dickey's employees are long-time employees who embrace the values of hard work, integrity and customer satisfaction.

Whether it's a load of concrete or a tanker of fuel oil, every sale, every business transaction is conducted with the kind of fairness and reliability you would expect from a small business, yet with the economy and efficiency of a sophisticated corporation.

We appreciate your interest in D.W. Dickey & Son, Inc. and we look forward to serving you.
